About me
Hi my name is Maggie Foottit and I am a freelancer under the tile of
mjf illustrations.
I am a professionally qualified designer, having studied at Goldsmiths College where I obtained a degree in Eco-Design. Besides being an illustrator, I am a highly experienced archaeologist with an extensive knowledge of excavation techniques, such as site work, excavation, planning, section drawing, recording, surveying of site/building, photography and drawing up scale plans and isometrics. Which gives me an insight as to what is needed for illustrating grey work, monographs and publications. As an illustrator my area of expertise is in hand drawing (pencil and pen and ink) of finds. pottery etc. and computer graphics packages, ( Corel Draw, Corel Photo-Paint, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Windows (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and Auto CAD. Which I have also used for clients in the planning process.
In my design work I use both pencil and ink, in the initial design, and then the appropriate digital program to layout and finish.
As an artist, I aim to produce high quality pastel gouache and acrylic paintings for commissions.
